I have always been interested in video podcasts, especially the ones published by Revision3. Have you seen any of their shows? The intros are awesome! Well, read on if video making intrigues you, sponsored by our friends over at Richter Studios.

First off, you need a good video camera. Thanks Captain Obvious! I personally own a Aiptek HD which rocks but editing/rendering HD can be a pain in the *** if you have a slow system. So obviously next, you’d need a high end computer. Be it a mac or windows, video editing needs a lot of memory, so you gotta spend some on those rams.

A ‘mini steadycam would also be nice. Something handheld and not the full body armor type. You can get one of those at most online video specialist stores or even DIY. Once you’ve got your gear, gather a few friends, record some silly action and upload it on the interwebs!

But if you’re looking for professional video editing and awesome production services, give Richter Studios a call. They provide video production services,
interactive CD-DVD programming, web site development and presentation design. All under one roof. Let’s say your company is launching a new product. A viral video is the best solution for that guerilla in you! Richter Studios can hook you up with actors, lighting and studio rental. They can also shoot in any format, and at any desired location. And if you already have the raw video files, let them handle the post-production and do their magic. Their team of world class editors and animators awesome! Also don’t be afraid to ask for other products which they are very good at, like 2D graphics, 3D animations, text treatments, logo animations, stylized effects and animation wizardry. Create your attention-grabbing masterpiece for your next marketing warplan!

Don’t wait. Video Production Services by Richter Studios is the way to go.

Say hello to the new iPod shuffle! Its smaller, its sleek, its fresh!

Apple launched a new version of the shuffle and i must say im speechless. The design is wonderful and it is even much smaller than the previous design!

One drawback though, it is very dependent on apple’s proprietary unique earphones. Cos thats where the controls are. So…audiophiles, you can’t plug in your Sennheiser or any of your preferred earphones. And ooh, you know how much apple’s earphones are. Ouch. Better take care of that one if you decide to buy the new iPod shuffle.

4GB, up to 1000 songs with 10 hours playback, this baby is indeed a fresher shuffle.

So you’re cold and freezing, yet, you gotta check your emails on your iphone.
You’ve got your gloves on. The sensor on the iPhone won’t be able to recognise the touch from the glove tip. So what do you do?
The guys from Etre Touchy has sponsored this review to let you into the scoop!

Introducing the Etre Touchy gloves. What exactly are they? These gloves have exposed tips for your thumb and index for that grip, ease and comfort when using your iPhone, PSP and iPods. Etre Touchy gloves is a unique way to keep your hands warm and dry while using your mobile gadgets. The exposed thumb and index tip allows you to tap, slide and pinch your touchscreen devices since the technology of most such gadgets require the real touch of your finger.

Extremely useful for those whose seconds means everything to them. Time is money, they say. Say you are walking with one hand full of groceries. A potential client calls and you mutter “Damn it!, how do i answer this call” With these gloves, you simply reach into your pocket, and tap the screen with your thumb. With normal gloves, you need to stop, put down your stuffs, take off your gloves, and tap the screen to answer a call. Well there’s your good news, now you don’t have to!

Priced at $21usd, i say these babies are not only functional, but puts the style in you!
Check out their website for more info.

Just months after taxi fares rose sharply, cab commuters may have to brace themselves for another cost hike: fuel surcharges.

The Sunday Times has learnt that taxi companies here are proposing what airlines have been applying since 2004 – a surcharge on top of stated fares to defray rising fuel prices. In the case of airlines, the surcharges are sometimes higher than the fares.

Source

Its an undeniable fact that fuel price will increase once the earth’s oil supply is decreasing. Eventually, it will be depleted. One day. Don’t know when, but i hope it is not within my lifetime. So many ugly events can occur once oil starts to deplete. Just imagine.

On to the story i quoted above. Please read it in depth. Taking cabs would be like taking a flight soon.

It’d be great if all cabs can be fitted with CNG. What is cng? Compressed natural gas. Cng is a substitute of diesel and petrol. It is considered more environmentally clean compared to what we are currently using. Cng cost approximately $1 per kg. While petrol cost an average of $2.20 and diesel at $1.90 per liter. The significant saving will definitely put a big smile on everyone. Not all cabs are fitted with CNG, but i notice most of TRANS and PREMIER cabs are. Good move!

We (singapore) are so slow at implementing this cost and earth saving technology. In the US, most homes have cng kits in their garage! So the the average Joe can pump cng in their Fords and drive off. In India, almost all of their auto-rickshaws uses cng! A cng refueling station can be seen almost everywhere. In Malaysia, they have NGV(natural gas vehicle) fueling stations all over the country! You see your average Petronas station, most likely there is an NGV spot too. Now how many cng stations do we have? Two. Or 3, if you have access to Jurong Island.

Singapore is also doing its bid, fret not. The newer buses you see on the roads are on cng (yeap!) and some taxis too. While i hope the nation can speed up the current ‘testing’ phase, i am also at the same time wishing all private cars can be retrofitted with a cng kit. Currently only 5000 cars in Singapore are cng ready. But news is catching up. Most owners feel the pinch and don’t mind saving money (who doesn’t), so there is a waiting list to fit your car with a cng kit. This is definitely a good sign. The only downside of having a cng fitted car: You gotta sacrifice boot space. I don’t need use my boot space all the time. Its not a mobile closet/wardrobe/etc. So yeah.

So my friends, save money and save the earth at the same time. Sounds like a plan? I think so too.

The review package arrived promptly on my desk. What package am i talking about?
Ipod touch/Iphone users, this is orgasm to your eyes.

I had the opportunity to review a sample pack from the guru himself, Mr Roger, an old friend and mentor.
Gorgeously designed and not mass-manufactured, the Shuffle Art series of skins are printed on a very high quality and durable material that even Roger isn’t letting me in with the info. Shuffle Art is available for the ipod range, iphone and macbooks. And hey, if you’re running on windows, fret not. PC laptop skins are available through custom order. When the iphone finally comes to Asia (huge insider news it’s coming in June!), you wouldn’t want to be one of the few million to have the same looking phone. Spice it up baby!

Design monkeys, watch out! Shuffle Art is coming up with a new design series in collaboration with Gardensilly (eeshaun, omg i love his illustrations!) and rehybrid.

These delicious skins are currently available through email orders at order@shuffle-art.com
(current online store undergoing upgrading)
The ipod touch / iphone skin is retailing at $SGD19.90 and you better get them fast. Like now.

With a 10,000 sq ft of space located at the Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, it offers not just Apple products from iPod to MacBook, but also a wide range of related software and gadgets, along with stylish compatible Mac accessories for today’s modern lifestyle.

The location is just a stone throw to Somerset MRT Station so it makes it very easy to get there.

When the latest OS X Leopard was launched, I was the first few to be there to witness how it runs on the many display sets for customers like us to fiddle with.

What makes it really cool in iSHOP is that they have all the gadgets there for you to play around with first before deciding whether to buy or not. The staffs there are knowledgeable and helpful to assist anytime also. It is truly the Apple environment nicely replicated from those Apple store in USA.

iSHOP is running a crazy promo: Get a MacBook Pro that comes free with a Xbox 360! Yes, get a macbook and get a xbox worth S$699 free. This I say is one of the best promo bundling ever but it ends this coming 31 Dec 2007.

South Africa For The Win! (FTW)
Say hello to 2007′s Rugby World Cup Champion, South Africa! I’m shocked for words. The Springboks fans must be ecstatic! Its just fantastic.

The match started quite slow but it kicked off with a penalty on the 7th minute. England responded with a penalty minutes after. Second half landed a spectator in jail. The bloke was running around the field taking with him 2 officials, for a ‘come catch me’ session. It was hilarious! Another blooper in this final match was the crash between Montgomery and the big ass television camera (see top picture). I bet it hurt real bad.

Credit for both teams in defense. It was definitely a tight match. Well done lads.

After the match, the trophy was carved on the spot with the champions name on it. Like Zul was saying “I hope they have a spare cup incase something happen”

*Scenario 1, if the winner were the England team*
Who won? England, ok.
I……N……..G….land.

*Scenario 2, if the carver watches too much Cartoon Network*
Ok, South….Park..

So the cup was placed on the field by a young boy. Before he went to the field, back in the stadium, the cup broke in half!! OMG! It was put back together within seconds. I had a feeling it was only a temporary fix. and boy i was right. When the winning team picked it up, they only picked up the upper half of it. Ah what a blooper!

Kudos to the very gallant and inspiring English team. And Say Hello to your Champions, South Africa!

Thank you very much, you’ve been a great audience. Its been great pleasure, thank you once again. Im Mr Malique signing off and have a grrrrrrreat Sunday!

Another new way of buying text links ads (apart from TLA) is TNX.
TNX is a new text link advertising platform that targets both publishers and advertisers equally well. For publishers, TNX offers the opportunity to earn TNX points which can be used for various purposes simply by displaying TNX text ad links on their pages. For advertisers, TNX provides a cheap and effective way of getting high-volume, non-reciprocal links from thousands of websites that are part of TNX’s program.

Joining TNX is free for both advertisers & publishers and it is a breeze to join! Publishers and advertisers can register at http://tnx.net/register.php. You automatically get 2,000 TNX points upon sign up. TNX also has a promo by which you get an additional 5,000 points free by posting on this thread in the DigitalPoint forums.

Its pretty straightforward with TNX, and 1 thing i like about it is the points system. Here is what you can do with TNX-Points:

1. Use them to pay for advertising your website which will improve positions in search engine results.

2. Hold on to your points and watch its price growing.

3. Sell your points to us or any other TNX member.

Another thing i like is that this program does not conflict with other programs like Google Adsense. You can combine TNX ads with any other advertising sponsor. Your visitors will see TNX ads as direct links (usually subject oriented) to other sites. Even if some context advertising system does not allow combining ads with similar systems, you would still be able to add the code to your pages, because TNX is not context oriented and nobody can stop you from placing a direct link to another site. The HTML code of the ads is not different from a regular link.

TNX also offers a affiliate program. Check them out today!

I’ve been using BAK2u GadgetTrak for a week now and i’m loving it. GadgetTrak is another product of Bak2u by the guy himself, Paddy Tan. So what is BAK2u GadgetTrak? It is an anti-theft software that works for almost every gadgets you have. Ipod, pda, phones. There is also a version for anything related to USB. So if have any devices that has usb flash(or storage) connectivity, this is the only anti-theft device for you! It works on cameras and SD cards too, that is such a turn on.

Registration was a breeze. Registering a device was also simple! To make the software work, you have to place the Agent Files in your device. To install the Agent Files, you need to unzip them and then copy the directories into THE ROOT of your USB device. If the files are put in directory it will not work. Each device has their own custom download.

So i wanted to try it and pretend i lost my Meizu. Touch wood! hehe. All i had to do was enable tracking and voila! The minute I connect the player to the pc, the software is instantly activated by a cleverly disguised application. It also autoruns. So what if the thief knows about the autorun application and bypass it? The device is activated in 3 ways.

Autorun prompt

Accessing the drive directly

Opening the cleverly disguised application called PASSWORD

GadgetTrak sends you an email once the device has been tracked. Back in the control panel, you can view the tracking report.

Omg, omg! I felt like Ethan Hunt! *cues in Mission Impossible theme song* Map, IP address, location!

“With these information you can print out the report and report it to the Police for them to work with the relevant service provider. With the IP address (just think Odex case), it can trace back to the user’s information that the service provider will have“

- Paddy Tan

BAK2u GadgetTrak is available online. Seriously, get it guys. Especially photographers with extremely expensive DSLR.

Someone buy me a Canon 40D, please?
