I feel the same way too. It frustrates me at times. I can live with minor setbacks like downtime (not for hours please!) and such, but there’s this small thing that frustrates me even more with my current (cough!) webhost. They disabled the php ‘send mail’ syntax, so that means you cant send me emails through the link up above, or i cant set up websites that needs to send a confirmation email to a newly registered user.

Now that pisses me off.

Stumbled upon this site which covers almost all (maybe) of the webhosting companies out there. I was impressed! Being webhosting geeks, i bet they can not resist putting up a table/chart thingy for the top 10 web hosting providers out there.

So what have i learnt from this new wave of information? Some providers charge a bomb for domain registration. While some had kick ass features for as low as $4 per month. Going to do more research on this. Currently im on a reseller plan at $XX per month. So i need the same features + the php send mail feature to be available, PLEASE!.

Well wish me luck. If you are in the same situation with me, why not head over to the web hosting geeks and do your own research, what’s hot and what’s not. See ya and have a great sunday ahead!

Air France Rebranding Sat, 28 Mar 2009 22:00:02 +0000 /?p=1040

A fresh new identity since 1975! Designed by Brandimage, i really think this new look works and i like the new direction of the logo.

Say goodbye to race nascar-like stripes that didn’t quite match up to what their niche is. Take all that away and replace it with a ribbon-like icon and sleek type…what do you get? Awesomeness! The typography is a real step forward looking more solid and bold. But i don’t know about the whole airfrance thing. Originally branded as “Air France”, with a space in between, i think this new layout might be a wee bit overpowering; trying hard to break out from 1975 and trying to fit in with 2008/2009.

So did this rebranding make or break? Your thoughts and views are very much welcome. Go on, spam me.

Step up your game Sat, 28 Mar 2009 21:20:02 +0000 /?p=1035

This week on, we talk about clinching that job in the current financial tsunami, how to elevate your skills and how to upgrade it…brought to you by our friends at K Alliance.

Are you jobless? I feel you. It’s very hard to get a job nowadays with everyone cutting cost and red tape and what-not. Why aren’t firms/companies interested in you, you may ask. Simple. ‘Cos there are millions out there with the same skill set, just like you. How do you go about that? Upgrading yourselves.

Lets say you’re a graphic designer who’s proficient in photoshop, illustrator and other imaging software. By having knowledge/certification in other mediums in your related field, you have stepped up the game, my friend. For publishing, you can take up online training for softwares like Quarkxpress or InDesign. Multimedia is the keyword this season. So fire up your web and multimedia interactive skills with online training at K Alliance.
Have you thought of taking up Dreamweaver and Flash courses? It could be your trump card in the next job application.

Ok, so maybe you own your own design business. You can also take up skills with online training in topics such as Business Etiquette, Innovation or even interviewing skills, if you ever need a helping hand for a couple of your projects lying around. There are an abundance of online training courses you can sign up for at K Alliance. Trust me, you’ll need it. Not now, not tomorrow…but one fine day it’ll come in handy.

So get your piece of the knowledge pie with them today. Procrastinators need not apply. 😉

Video 101 Tue, 24 Mar 2009 18:15:47 +0000 /?p=1028 I have always been interested in video podcasts, especially the ones published by Revision3. Have you seen any of their shows? The intros are awesome! Well, read on if video making intrigues you, sponsored by our friends over at Richter Studios.

First off, you need a good video camera. Thanks Captain Obvious! I personally own a Aiptek HD which rocks but editing/rendering HD can be a pain in the *** if you have a slow system.  So obviously next, you’d need a high end computer. Be it a mac or windows, video editing needs a lot of memory, so you gotta spend some on those rams.

A ‘mini steadycam would also be nice. Something handheld and not the full body armor type. You can get one of those at most online video specialist stores or even DIY. Once you’ve got your gear, gather a few friends, record some silly action and upload it on the interwebs!

But if you’re looking for professional video editing and awesome production services, give Richter Studios a call. They provide video production services,
interactive CD-DVD programming, web site development and presentation design. All under one roof. Let’s say your company is launching  a new product. A viral video is the best solution for that guerilla in you! Richter Studios can hook you up with actors, lighting and studio rental.  They can also  shoot in any format, and at any desired location. And if you already have the raw video files, let them handle the post-production and do their magic. Their team of world class editors and animators awesome! Also don’t be afraid to ask for other products which they are very good at, like 2D graphics, 3D animations, text treatments, logo animations, stylized effects and animation wizardry. Create your attention-grabbing masterpiece for your next marketing warplan!

Don’t wait. Video Production Services by Richter Studios is the way to go.

Stranger danger! Thu, 12 Mar 2009 00:45:33 +0000 /?p=1016 revision3 diggnation digg

What would you do if a random dude (stranger danger!) pops into your house and start lying on your bed?
I’d kick that son of a ***** out!!

Meet Prager, Mr nice guy, also one of the founders of Revision 3; my favourite internet tv network.

A drunk crazy ass dude stepped into his place, used the bathroom and conked out on his bed! Yes wtf! And Prager was being all nice…well too nice! I’d practice krav maga on him and call the cops. But the dude seemed harmless. Watch the clip, its hilarious! Seems like the crazy dude was on something…he couldnt speak well, he didnt know why he was there, etc.

Part 1
Part 2

I want to see this discussed on the next episode of diggnation! ..and hope this wasn’t staged at all, its too funneh.

The New iPod Shuffle – 2009 Wed, 11 Mar 2009 18:01:52 +0000 /?p=1010 new-ipod-shuffle-2009
Say hello to the new iPod shuffle! Its smaller, its sleek, its fresh!

Apple launched a new version of the shuffle and i must say im speechless. The design is wonderful and it is even much smaller than the previous design!

One drawback though, it is very dependent on apple’s proprietary unique earphones. Cos thats where the controls are. So…audiophiles, you can’t plug in your Sennheiser or any of your preferred earphones. And ooh, you know how much apple’s earphones are. Ouch. Better take care of that one if you decide to buy the new iPod shuffle.

4GB, up to 1000 songs with 10 hours playback, this baby is indeed a fresher shuffle.
