expresswayI had an experience that i will never forget.Driving along BKE towards the third destination, we spotted a road traffic accident (RTA) involving two families decked in colorful baju kurung. What a sad sight i must say. In the car was my mom, an aunt and a cousin. Mom was saying, “Gosh that’s really unfortunate.” I turned to see the crash scene on the road shoulder. A few seconds later i looked back straight to the road and i saw the ass of optimus prime, a few meters away from me. I was thinking to myself within that split second, “Is this how my life is going to end?”

It was drizzling and the road was obviously wet.  The moment i saw the back of the trailer just meters away from me, i stepped on the brakes and the car skidded, followed by a loud “Screeeeeeeeeech!” My first instinct was to steer against the direction of the skid and like a stunt car driver, i gained control of the vehicle. Im not boasting or highlighting anything here. It was a close shave. Its not even funny. How could i be so careless?

I asked everyone in the car if they were ok. All of them responded to a yes. My mom was visibly in shock and so was the aunt. So what went wrong here? Let me do a personal analysis.

  1. I wasn’t paying full attention to the road.
  2. I was distracted (the RTA on the road shoulder)
  3. The rain aggravate the situation.
  4. What the hell is wrong with me?!!

This is a lesson learnt. No festive goodies/cookies before driving.
