So yeah. I went snorkelling. Bad decision Mr. Malique! I was suffering from muscle spasm a few days before i went to Perhentian Island. But good move Mr. Malique! The experience was…whoa. You gotta be there to experience it.
(quite a number of muscle relaxants & painkillers were consumed during this review)

govt teardown!
On my 3rd day, i was awoken by this sight. I saw shops being cordoned off, i saw government officials carrying tools, and i saw mixed emotions. I was wondering what the heck was going on. Moments later, they start hacking an internet cafe down. I was like, “What the?!”. So me being me, the ever curious photojournalist wannabe :P , i went around snapping and asked one of the officials.

tear it downnnnn!!
Apparently, land which is a few meters off the shore, belongs to the Government. So they are here to do some hardcore eviction.

seahorse diving centre
Even Seahorse wasn’t spared! They literally cut the diving centre in half! Oh the horror!

“Excuse me, butt can i dive now?”
tunabay torn down!
Well of course Tunabay wasn’t spared too. They had to let go of the bar.

no cold beer for tunabay guests
And before we made our way for another snorkelling trip, i heard a Brit say

“No more cold beers tonight”

whoa..
Perhentian Island is a must-go for nature lovers and diving enthusiast. Superb accommodation can be found here at a great price, just like Tunabay. Im missing Perhentian Island already. I miss that 5 second power shutdown every morning at 8am. I miss the delicious dinner that makes you feel like home. Most of all, i miss the great hospitality.

Perhentian Island receives 4 out of 5 stars!

  • Looks like a fantastic island to visit one day. Too bad about the internet cafe. How will one blog without an internet connection now? Haha!

  • Mr Malique

  • Hi Malique,

Those are amazing shots you got from snorkling! It should be a concerted effort to preserve nature because right now there seems to be a fast degradation of our natural resources.

  • Mark: you should! its a perfect place for nature lovers and dive enthusiasts!

gladiator: yeah sad but true! :(
