Applications of Graphic Design

You are a nomad, you do not always work in an office, with your computer and your graphic tablet well calibrated at hand. Sometimes you’re struck by inspiration when you’re out, or you need to quickly present something to a client. This is where creative apps will do you a favor.

And since not everyone is affiliated with the Apple brand, we will present you some tools that you can use on Android.

  1. Adobe Illustrator Draw

Draw vector illustrations directly on your smartphone? This is possible on Android since 2016.

Adobe Illustrator Draw will not require any adaptation from Illustrator enthusiasts for their desktop computers, as it presents the same tools and configurations.

With a subscription to Adobe’s Creative Cloud, you can even work in parallel on both versions, and then publish your works on Behance!

  1. Adobe Photoshop Mix

This application, also developed by Adobe, offers a Pocket mini Photoshop.

This Swiss knife will prove very useful for combining elements from different photos, working with layers, adding filters and other small photo development secrets.

Easy to use, Adobe Photoshop mix automatically synchronizes with its Big Brother on your computer.

  1. Sketchbook

Draw with a raised hand almost as easily as in a notebook; this is what Sketchbook offers.

This application includes 190 different types of brushes and a large color library; it allows you to scan sketches to work on and correct shapes of your drawings as needed.

The little bonus: recently, the complete version is free!

  1. Infinite Design

To infinity and beyond. This is certainly what the developers of Infinite Design had to limit themselves to.

In your pocket, you will have a very respectable competitor at Illustrator, with many editing options for your images… and even the ability to create them in 3D with perspective.

The possibilities are so numerous that they would be too long to list: it is up to you to discover them.

  1. Infinite Painter

Yes, you can paint yourself on your smartphone.

Infinite Painter offers more than 80 brush settings (and you can create your own).

The application allows you to create clean lines with guides, draw urban landscapes in 3D, play on paper textures, fluidify and Adjust Color, Transform at will.

  1. Canva

Canva is well known for its use on computers, which allows designing very quickly for all situations of the web or everyday life.

The app is now available on iOS & Android, with the same features.

Its great plus for a designer: formats already dimensioned for social networks or posters, on which you can lay out a possible presentation in a few clicks. Practical to show your talents!

  1. Find my Font

Walk the streets, see typography you like and be able to identify it or find one very similar?

This is what the Find my Font mobile app offers. Its database includes more than 150,000 different fonts. You’ll never be caught unprepared when you read a sign outside!

All of these apps are free so you can stay creative without paying a penny.

Your smartphone will quickly become even more indispensable. But you can say it’s for work. Only for work…
